CoSRH Contraception Provision Course for Pharmacy Professionals

The CoSRH is delighted to offer our first course tailored for Pharmacy professionals to advance their knowledge in contraception provision.

This 3-module course includes a flexible, self-directed study period, followed by two live remote facilitated group sessions.  Module One has a flexible start date, starting anytime from now until 10 November. Module Two takes place on 18 November and Module 3 on 25 November 2025.

 Self-paced

We'll send you a self-directed learning workbook with case studies & reflection activities. The workbook takes approximately 10 hours to complete which you can start and finish at your own pace, as long as it is completed before Module 2 on 18 November.

 
 Module 2  18th November 2025  19:00 - 21:30 Live facilitated group session via Zoom for exploring how to apply the knowledge from Module 1 during a consultation under range of conditions and requirements.
 
 Module 3  25th November 2025  19:00 - 21:30 Live facilitated group session via Zoom to practice your skills and develop your knowledge through exploring case studies and more

Course learning outcomes

On successful completion of the full course (all three modules) you will have gained skills and knowledge to meet the following learning objectives: 

  • Assess the suitability of individuals for oral contraception based on medical and lifestyle factors
  • Identify and manage cautions and contraindications to oral contraception
  • Apply UKMEC to support contraception choices
  • Assess factors that could affect contraceptive effectiveness (including emergency contraception)
  • Describe significant drug interactions
  • Discuss and offer alternative methods of contraception
  • For combined oral contraception (COC), select appropriate formulation and regimen, including pill type and duration of supply
  • Discuss selected oral contraception with patient to ensure understanding
  • Offer appropriate follow up
  • Describe an online shared decision-making contraception consultation tool.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

If you can no longer attend, please send your cancellation request in writing to [email protected] at least 2 weeks before 18th November to receive a refund.
Requests received after this point will not be eligible for a refund.

In the unlikely event that a course or assessment must be cancelled for any reason, The CoSRH shall notify registered delegates of the cancellation as soon as possible. The FSRH takes no responsibility for non-refundable travel/accommodation in the case of a changed programme or cancelled event.
